Coconut Mango Milkshake Double IPA
One of the latest fads in the brewing industry, Milkshake IPAs, a subset of the popular, somewhat controversial New England IPA, are made by adding lactose (milk sugar) in the boil and vanilla bean after fermentation. This adds a deceiving, milkshake-esque sweetness to a beer that's actually pretty dry. We took it a step further by adding fresh mango and toasted coconut to the beer post-fermentation, to give it another layer of fabulousness. Don't let the fruity sweetness fool you, this dessert like beer comes in at a whopping 9.0%, so sip slowly!
